See if you can catch yourself complaining, in either speech or thought, about a situation you find yourself in, what other people do or say, your surroundings, your life situation, even the weather.  To complain is always nonacceptance of what is.”

The stream of thinking has enormous momentum that can easily drag you along with it.  Every thought pretends it matters so much.  It wants to draw your attention completely.  Here is a new spiritual practice:  don’t take your thoughts too seriously.”

Time is what the ego lives on.  The stronger the ego, the more time takes over your life.  Almost every thought you think is then concerned with past and future, and your sense of self depends on the past for your identity and on the future for its fulfillment.”
